Alresford 16 Jul 2019 17:45 - 20:45 Sightings from Alresford Creek, sunny evening with some cloud Matt Turner 2 Little Owl (Roosting together in distant tree, thanks to local birder 'Chris' for pointing them out. If he reads this, join EBwS - it's great!), Hobby (Had a go at a blackbird then settled in bare tree for 30 seconds before flying off), 3 Grey Partridge (2 seen, 1 heard), Marsh Harrier (Male seen 3 times, last 2 carrying prey - maybe a young duck...), 2 Greenshank, Whimbrel, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, Sedge Warbler (heard singing), Yellowhammer, 8 Linnet (1 male making a repeating single two tone call v. similar to bullfinch), 4 Green Woodpecker (at least inc minimum 1 juv)
