Abberton Reservoir 10:30 to 13:15, Cloudy, sunny periods, still. Not much evidence of movement over the last few days, save for uncountable numbers of hirundines gathering and feeding, ready for onwards migration. Highlights were:
Great White Egret (still present in lagoon, beside concrete wall at northern end of LB causeway) Osprey (from LB causeway, on usual perch) 14 Ruff (eight by LdlH causeway and six in Hide Bay) Common Sandpiper (feeding on LdlH causeway) 2 Black Tern (perhaps 3 - two in flight in front of Island Hide, and one on the 'island' in Hide Bay) Wheatear (between Gwen's Hide and Island Hide) Red Fox (walked over the narrow concrete wall fronting the lagoon by LB causeway, right in front of the Great White Egret!)
