1 Cormorant (A bird ringed by me in June 1996 at the Abberton Res. tree-nesting colony has been wintering on the N. coast of Spain at Ares since 2003. latest sighting January 2015. Antonio Gutierrez has kindly kept me up to date with sightings. It is now 18 years old and is currently the oldest living ringed Cormorant in Europe. It has not been recorded in the Uk since it left Abberton 2 weeks after fledging. Likely to be breeding in one of the many French colonies as I have had seversal such past records. It could be Spain but have never had a summer sighting that far south. ) [Graham Ekins]
