Join a growing community of friendly bird enthusiasts to enjoy and record the wealth of birdlife in Essex. As a member of Essex Birdwatching Society you will receive the following exclusive benefits each year:

• The Essex Bird Report - This award winning publication presents the previous year’s complete Essex ornithological record, including historic data. It also includes the official Essex list of all species recorded in the county from circa 991.

• Two Essex Birding journals - packed with fun and informative articles, photographs and artwork - all submitted by fellow members. The journal also contains reports from across the county to keep you up to date.

• Access to our biennial Conservation Conference and monthly Indoor Meetings with guest speakers, covering a wide range of fascinating topics. The meetings have currently moved online for the time being (YouTube and Zoom) but otherwise are held in Chelmsford on the first Friday of each month from September to April. Conferences take place at Writtle University College.

• Join our monthly guided Field Trips within the county and further afield. Longer trips include luxury coach travel, provided at very reasonable rates, and there is always a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all.

• Opportunities to develop and share your skills; support bird conservation by participating in local and national surveys; become part of our birding community via our website and social media.
